Westville Vista is an 1152 sq. foot executive summer home set on over 2 acres of land on the picturesque West River of rolling hills and water. Built in 2012, has 3 bedrooms, kitchen with eating island and great room, full bathroom and additional vanity, covered veranda, on-site laundry, fully furnished with tasteful indoor and outdoor furniture. 15 minutes to Charlottetown, 30 minutes to Cavendish, and 5 minutes to Canoe Cove Beach, 3 golf courses and grocery, restaurants, gas, and spirits shopping. (please note that the mapping is not quite accurate, the home is closer to the water than it appears in some mapping and the community is New Dominion).

The home was built on ‘MacEwen’ family land where the Owner’s ancestor’s settled in 1805. Thus, the inlet of water is named, “MacEwen Inlet”. The original 6 bedroom homestead unfortunately was not recommended to salvage after being left vacant for a few years, then mistreated by youthful mischievousness. The current owner purchased the property from her Uncle, (who had inherited it from his Aunt, the Owner’s Great Aunt). She then made the emotional decision to tear down the homestead and create a small peaceful home for her young family to enjoy when back home on the island. The Large Linden and Chestnut trees were planted in 1914, when the Owner’s great Uncle came home from California, to stop and say goodbye to his family before heading off to war. He planted these trees. Uncle John never made it home from the war and he was reported MIA. His name is on the monument at Vimy Ridge and the Owner’s father was named after him. *** The beams of the veranda were the floor beams of the original home, the veranda railing and spindles were the banister and spindles from the original staircase, and the salvaged piece of hardwood floor hanging on the wall of the great room were all from the home and date back to 1805. All the antiques and mantels, and some of the display antique dishes/plates, are all from the original home.***
